NEW DELHI: Let the bat do the talking - actions speak louder than words. India opener Abhishek Sharma believes in that notion, and he adopted the approach to punish Pakistani players in the Super 4 Asia Cup clash in Dubai on Sunday.
Both Abhishek and his opening partner Shubman Gill had heated exchanges with Pakistan pacers Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi during the match, but the Indian batters chose to reply with the bat.
The match witnessed its share of skirmishes and every time it was Pakistani players, who started it but Indians, who finished it. After being hit for a boundary, Afridi had a word for Gill, who showed him where the ball went.

Similarly when ill-tempered Rauf was given a belt treatment by Abhishek, he tried to get into a physical altercation only to be stopped by the umpires as Gautam Gambhir sent three of his reserves to diffuse the situation.
Abhishek was unhappy with the behaviour of the Pakistani players, saying needless aggression was not the need of the hour. He added that an ultra-aggressive batting approach was the best possible way to respond to an in-your-face opposition.
"Today it was very simple, the way they (Pakistan players) were coming at us for no reason, I didn't like it at all and this is the only way (his aggressive batting) I could give medicine to them," said Abhishek in the post-match presentation.
Abhishek further added to Pakistan's woes by taking to social media. The left-hander shared a few images of his innings with the caption: 'You talk, we win.'
