In the last T20 of their historic three-match series in the United Arab Emirates, Nepal's dream of completing a clean sweep, against the West Indies, was dashed on Tuesday. They had managed to build an unassailable two-nil lead in this series, marking their first-ever series win over a full-member side, but faltered in the final match, going down to a 10-wicket defeat.
Batting first, Nepal looked set for a challenging total when they reached 84 for three but after Gulsan Jha’s run-out, things went swiftly downhill for Nepal. In just six overs, they lost seven wickets, with left-arm pacer Ramon Simmonds having a blinder. He tore the middle and lower orders apart with an electrifying spell of four for 15 in three overs. Nepal were skittled for 122 all out.
The West Indies, eager to prevent a clean sweep, successfully chased the small target. Openers Amir Jangoo and Ackeem Auguste breezed through the total without losing a wicket. Jangoo - playing only his third T20 international - was the star of the day with a rapid 74 not out from 45 balls, full of boundaries and exciting sixes. Auguste, playing in his fourth T20, supported him well with an excellent unbeaten 41 from 29 balls. In just 12.2 overs, they recorded 123 without loss, with eight sixes and nine fours, which delivered a strong consolation win for the West Indies.

Despite the loss, Nepal captain Rohit Paudel was in an optimistic mood. “This series will boost a lot of confidence to the boys," he said, "and we will look to take this momentum into the World Cup Qualifiers."
Nepal will now turn its attention to the upcoming Asia and East Asia Pacific Qualifiers for the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, which begin on October 8 in Al Amarat, Oman, and two Nepalese teams will participate in this tournament.
