New Zealand went out to bat first after losing the toss and had a great start to their inning as the opening pair of Devon Conway and Finn Allen put up a 53-run stand for the 1st wicket.

New Zealand lost their 1st wicket in the 6th over as Finn Allen departed for 32 runs in just 18 balls. They lost their 2nd wicket in the 12th over when wicket-keeper batter Devon Conway was dismissed for 28 runs in 33 balls.

Glenn Phillips after scoring 17 runs in 9 balls was dismissed in the 14th over as the 3rd wicket of the batting side. Skipper Kane Williamson was looking good and played an amazing inning of 61 runs in just 35 balls before getting dismissed.

James Neesham and Mitchell Santner departed without scoring any runs. Daryl Mitchell and Tim Southee remained unbeaten on 31 and 1 run respectively. Joshua Little took 3 wickets with Gareth Delany getting 2 wickets. Mark Adair managed to find a wicket as well.

Chasing the target, Ireland too had a promising start to their inning as Paul Stirling and Andrew Balbirnie put up a 68-run opening stand. They lost their 1st wicket in the 9th over as the skipper Balbirnie departed for 30 runs in 25 balls.

The Irish team then started losing wickets at regular intervals as Stirling was dismissed in the next over for 37 runs. Harry Tector was then dismissed for 2 runs off 7 balls followed by Delany's dismissal for 10 runs, Tucker's for 13 runs, and Curtis Campher for run-a-ball 7 runs.
