Netherlands beat Zimbabwe whereas India regains top spot in Group 2 after beating Bangladesh

The Netherlands have defeated Zimbabwe in the 34th match of the ongoing T20 World Cup at Adelaide by 5 wickets. With this loss, Zimbabwe's hopes of advancing in the tournament licked the dust.

Zimbabwe elected to bat first after winning the toss and looked struggling throughout their inning whereas the Netherlands chased the target without facing any difficulties.

Zimbabwe totally looked out of color throughout the match and disappointed their fans with an embarrassing performance.

Zimbabwe had a poor start to their inning after they decided to bat first. No other batters than Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams managed to put any impact and even failed to touch the double-figure mark.

Raza scored 40 runs in just 24 balls whereas Williams made a contribution of 28 runs. Zimbabwe's decision to bat first proved to be a nightmare as they were all out for 117 runs in 19.2 overs.

The Dutch bowlers on the other hand were up to the mark. Van Meekeren took 3 wickets with Glover, and van Beek and de Leede took 2 wickets each. Fred Klaassen also managed to pick up a wicket.

Max ODowd's magnificent batting took Zimbabwe out of the match completely. He scored 52 runs in 47 balls with the help of 8 fours and a six. Tom Cooper provided commendable support to him and scored 32 runs in 29 balls.

The Netherlands chased the target quite comfortably in the 18th over with 5 wickets in hand. Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani were the key contributors for Zimbabwe as they both took 2 wickets each with Luke Jongwe getting a single wicket.

Virat Kohli played an unbeaten knock of 64 runs in 44 balls. Chasing the target, Bangladesh were given the target of 151 runs in 16 overs due to rain interruption but Shakib's men managed to score 145 runs as India clinched a 5-run victory.

Virat Kohli was adjudged as player of the match for his effective performance.
