Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah returns to India's T20 World Cup squad, Jadeja ruled out

BCCI announced the Indian team for the ICC T20 World Cup and for the T20I home series against Australia and South Africa on Monday. Harshal Patel and Jasprit Bumrah return to the squad after recovering from their respective Injuries. 

Ravindra Jadeja was ruled out of the T20 World Cup due to a knee injury, and Axar Patel replaced him in the squad. Rohit Sharma will lead the team in the T20 World Cup. KL Rahul retains his spot in the team despite not having a good Asia Cup.

Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik are the two wicket-keeping options in the Tournament. Arshdeep Singh also retains his spot in the team. Virat Kohli had a magnificent Asia Cup, Suryakumar Yadav is one of the best T20 batters at the moment and Hardik Pandya regaining his full fitness is also a big positive for Team India. Deepak Hooda's ability to bowl off-spin gave him an edge over other contenders like Shreyas Iyer who was named in standbys. 

Along with Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami, Ravi Bishnoi and Deepak Chahar were also named in the list of stand-by players. Ashwin, Yuzvendra Chahal and Axar Patel are three spin bowling options in the squad. While Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh are fast bowling options.

Standby players -Mohammed Shami, Shreyas Iyer, Ravi Bishnoi, Deepak Chahar.

Shami and Chahar returns for the T20I series against Australia and South Africa:-

Deepak Chahar and Mohammed Shami named as Stand by players in the T20 World Cup squad have been picked in both the squads that will play Australia and South Africa in the T20I series at home. 

The duo will replace Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya who will be reporting to NCA for conditioning-related work during the course of the home series against Australia and South Africa. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya will miss the South Africa series and Arshdeep Singh will miss the Australia series.

India will play a three-match T20I series against Australia starting from September 20 at Mohali and three-match T20I series against South Africa starting from September 28 at Thiruvananthapuram.
