The excitement reached another level in yet another triple header day in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe in a nail bitting thriller whereas Pakistan comfortably thrashed the Netherlands in a one-sided fixture.

Bangladesh elected to bat first after winning the toss and had a poor start to their inning as they lost 2 wickets inside the powerplay. Najmul Hossain and Shakib Al Hasan then put up a 54-run stand for the 3rd wicket before the latter was dismissed in the 13th over.

Bangladesh had few partnerships in between but kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Najmul on the other hand was looking in good touch and went on to score the maiden half-century of his T2OI career.

Afif Hossain provided a crucial contribution of 29 runs in just 19 balls late in the innings as Bangladesh posted a total of 150/7 in their 20 overs. Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani were brilliant with the ball as they both took 2 wickets with Sikandar Raza and Sean Williams getting a single wicket each.

Chasing the target, Zimbabwe suffered a calamity of disastrous start as the top order departed for a negligible contribution. They were struggling at 35/4 inside the powerplay with the inform batter Raza and skipper Craig Ervine already been dismissed.

Sean Williams at the other end was carrying his team towards the target but was running out of partners. He then put up partnerships with Regis Chakabva first and then with Ryan Burl to take his team close to the target.

He went on to score the 10th half-century of his T2OI career before getting dismissed with 16 runs needed in the last over. Mosaddek Hossain held his nerves even after a no-ball drama and took his team to a thrilling 3-run victory.

Taskin Ahmed took 3 wickets and was adjudged as player of the match for his remarkable bowling performance.
