Spinners and Gill stars as India clinch the ODI series

India beat South Africa by seven wickets in the last and Final ODI of the series. Indian spinners Kuldeep Yadav, Shahbaz Ahmed and Washington Sundar shared eight wickets between them and Siraj took 2 wickets.

As it happened:-

India won the toss and opted to bowl first against South Africa in Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. Indian team was unchanged for the third ODI while South Africa made three changes in their team with David Miller leading the side and Marco Jansen, Lungi Ngidi and Andile Phehlukwayo came in for Temba Bavuma, Tabraiz Shamsi and Keshav Maharaj.

Batting first on a spin-friendly track, South African batters never looked comfortable. Sundar got the wicket of Quinton de Kock in his second over. Janneman Malan hit three boundaries to Siraj and he was a bit expensive at the start but he bounced back and got the wicket of Malan and Reeza Hendricks in his back-to-back overs.

Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klassen were looking to build a partnership but Shahbaz got the wicket of Markram on 9(19). Sundar clean bowled the South African captain David Miller on 7(8). Klassen was the only South African batter who looked comfortable against India's spin bowling attack but Indian bowlers never allowed him to play freely as they kept taking wickets from the other end, he was dismissed by Shahbaz on 34(42).

Kuldeep Yadav cleaned the South African lower batting order, he got the wicket of Andile Phehlukwayo, Nortje, Bjorn Fortuin and Marco Jansen. South Africa lost the last six wickets for 33 runs as they were bowled out for 99 runs in 28 overs.

Chasing the 100 runs target, India lost their first wicket in the form of Shikhar Dhawan who got run out on 8(14). Fortuin got the wicket of Ishan Kishan on 10(18). Shubman Gill fell just 1 run short of his half-century but Shreyas Iyer finished the match with a six and South Africa lost an important series by 2-1.
