Pakistan beat Bangladesh in the last match of the T20I Tri-series. Pakistan will play the final against New Zealand on 14 October. Bangladesh is out of the Tri-series as they didn't manage to win a single match

As it happened:-

Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat first against Pakistan. Bangladesh made two changes in their team, Taskin Ahmed and Hasan Mahmud came in for Mosaddek Hossain and Ebadot Hossain. Pakistan also made one change in their team Mohammad Hasnain came in for Shahnawaz Dahani.

Bangladesh lost the wickets of its openers in the power play. Naseem Shah dismissed Soumya Sarkar on 4(4) and Mohammad Wasim got the wicket of Najmul Hossain Shanto on 12(15).

Litton Das came at no.3, he faced two balls and then suffered a muscle strain. He wasn't able to run early on and was struggling in the middle. So he relied on his timing and smashed Pakistan's young seam bowlers all around the ground. Bangladesh managed to score 41 runs in the power play.

Liton along with Shakib then took on Pakistan spin bowlers, they smashed Mohammad Nawaz for 17 runs in the eighth over. Bangladesh was 80/2 at the end of 10 overs. Mohammad Nawaz got the wicket of Liton Das on 69(42). Liton and Shakib stitched an 88-run partnership for the third wicket.

Shakib smashed his second half-century in two days. He took on Mohammad Wasim in the 17th over and smashed him for a six and four. Naseem Shah got the wicket of Shakib on 68(42) and after his wicket, Bangladesh only managed to score six runs off the last eight balls. They finished their innings at 173/6 in 20 overs.

Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam dominated the Bangladesh Young Seam bowling attack. Both were a little watchful for the first few overs but then attacked the Bangladesh bowlers. They scored 46 runs in the power play.

Both the batters posted a century partnership in the 13th over. Hasan Mahmud picked up two wickets in his last over. He got the wicket of Babar and Haider Ali. Bangladesh needed a couple of wickets and tight overs from their bowlers but that never happened, Nawaz and Rizwan smashed Shakib for 17 runs in the 15th over.

Soumya Sarkar got the wicket of Rizwan in the 19th over. With 8 needed off the last over, it never looked tough for Pakistan. Mohammad Nawaz was the key batter for Pakistan he took on Bangladesh bowlers and scored some important boundaries when the runs were not coming that easily. He scored 45 runs off 20 balls with an impressive strike rate of 225. Pakistan won the match by seven wickets with one ball remaining.
