India came out in the 2nd T2OI to extend their lead in the series with the hosts hoping for a comeback after losing the ODI series and 1st T2OI. The match however had a delayed start due to the late arrival of team luggage at St Kitts from Trinidad.

West Indies elected to bowl first after winning the toss and had a brilliant start with the ball as skipper Rohit Sharma departed in the very first ball of the match. India then never recovered from their horrible start and kept losing wickets at regular intervals.

The visitors had no answers to the Windies pace bowling attack as Obed McCoy rattled through the Indian batting line-up. Rishabh Pant in between got a good start as he smashed two sixes but was undone at quickly made 24 runs by Akeal Hosein.

Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya tried to build up a partnership as they put up a 43-run stand for the 5th wicket before the latter was dismissed for 31 runs by Jason Holder. India lost their last five wickets for just 34 runs and were all-out for 138 runs in 19.4 overs with Pandya being the top run scorer with 31 runs off 31 balls.

Obed McCoy was the hero for the hosts with the ball as he bowled a maiden in his quota of four overs and took 6 wickets for just 17 runs. He got good support from Holder who got two wickets with Alzarri Joseph and Akeal Hosein getting one wicket each.

Chasing the target, West Indies had a brilliant start to their inning as they scored 46 runs in the powerplay. Kyle Mayers fell prey to Pandya for 8 runs just after the powerplay. Windies managed to build small partnerships in between the dismissals as Brandon King went on to score 4th half-century of his T2OI career.

They were looking favorites to win the match but struggled to get a good run rate between the overs. As a result, the hosts needed 10 runs off the last over which Avesh Khan was going to bowl. Avesh bowled a no ball first up followed by a six and a four in the next two deliveries.

Devon Thomas remained unbeaten on 31 runs off 19 balls and ensured a victory for his team with four balls to spare. India used six bowlers with five of them except Bhuvneshwar getting one wicket each. Obed McCoy for his remarkable bowling figures was adjudged as player of the match.

Windies after the 5-wicket win have leveled the 5-match T2OI series 1-1 with three games to go. The 3rd T2OI at St Kitts on Tuesday will too have a delayed start to ensure enough rest gap for both the teams as they'll look to take the lead in the series.
