It won’t be wrong to call Roman Reigns one of the best wrestlers in the history of WWE, He has achieved a lot in his 10-year WWE career and is currently the Undisputed Champion of WWE and holding both the major championships of the company at present.

It has almost become an achievement for any superstar of WWE to defeat him. For almost the last 2 years, he has remained the Universal Champion, during which no superstar has managed to challenge his brilliance. It’s been a while now since any superstar pinned Roman.

Here are five such shocking names who have defeated Roman Reigns through pinfall :

THE MIZ

The Miz has been a crucial part of WWE for many years now and has achieved a lot in his wrestling career. However, one of his biggest achievements has been his victory against Roman Reigns in a singles match. He has pinned 'The Big Dog' not once, but twice.

On January 22, 2018, at the 25th anniversary of Raw, Miz defeated Roman Reigns by pinning him without any cheating. Even though the B-team was on the ringside in this match to support Miz, but didn’t interfered much. This match was set for the Intercontinental Championship and Miz was crowned as the new champion. 

In a RAW episode of January 29, 2018, Miz again defeated Roman in a rematch but this time with the help of the B-team who was present at the ringside to support him. After their interference Miz successfully pinned Roman Reigns. 

 

SHANE McMAHON

Shane McMahon is the son of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and the brother of Stephanie McMahon. He has also been the commissioner of the SmackDown brand for a long time. Also, he is constantly booked for some special matches in his father's company. He was last seen at the Royal Rumble 2022, in which he came at number 28 and was eliminated by Brock Lesnar.

Shane McMahon's feud with Braun Strowman was very much liked, and the same thing happened with his rivalry against Roman Reigns whom he defeated through pinfall. Shane McMahon is a part-time wrestler, but despite this, he has achieved the great feat of defeating a legend like Roman Reigns in a singles match.

Shane McMahon defeated Roman Reigns in the Super Showdown Pay Per View on 7 June 2019. Although Drew McIntyre assisted Shane through interference that allowed him to pin Roman Reigns in the end.

 

FINN BALOR

In 2016, WWE chairman Vince McMahon passed the SmackDown brand to his son Shane McMahon and appointed his daughter Stephanie McMahon the Raw brand commissioner. Dean Ambrose was the WWE Champion at that time and was drafted into the SmackDown brand. In such a situation, Stephanie McMahon inaugurated the Universal Championship for her brand.

A full tournament was played in the Raw brand for the Universal Championship in which Finn Balor and Roman Reigns faced off in the title decider. All the fans expected that Roman Reigns would easily win this match, but contrary to everyone's expectations, Finn Balor performed brilliantly and was dominating Roman Reigns throughout the match.

Without any interference or any help, Finn Balor pinned Roman Reigns in this match and became the first Universal Champion in WWE history. Currently, Finn Balor is associated with the SmackDown brand.

 

ERIC ROWAN

The name of Wyatt Family member Eric Rowan is also included in those wrestlers who have defeated Roman Reigns by pinning. Rowan did a marvelous job with the Wyatt Family, but he hasn’t been able to achieve much success in singles, apart from defeating Roman Reigns through pinfall.

Eric Rowan and Roman Reigns faced each other in the 2019 PPV Clash of Champions. During that time Vince McMahon was pushing Eric Rowan for singles fixtures and was given few matches in PPV with big superstars like Roman Reigns. In this match, both wrestlers put up a great show.

Fans expected that Roman Reigns would eventually win this match but Eric Rowan was fortunate to be assisted by his old partner Luke Harper who made an interference to help Eric and allowed him to pin Roman to register one of the biggest wins of his WWE career.

 

KING CORBIN

King Corbin is a well-known name in WWE and has also been in a feud with Roman Reigns many times. He faced defeat against Roman on most of the occasions he managed to pin Roman Reigns on December 15, 2019, in a TLC Singles match at TLC PPV. The match was quite interesting and both the superstars gave their hearts out against each other in that match.

Corbin in the end was helped by Dolph Ziggler and The Revival during the fight. In the end, Corbin successfully defeated Roman Reigns through pinfall. Currently, King Corbin is a part of the SmackDown brand and is currently considered one of the best wrestlers around in the WWE industry.
